What you need
tbsp cornstarch

cup orange oil

shallot

clove garlic

tbsp ginger

scallion
red chili pepper
tsp cornstarch

tbsp water

tbsp light soy sauce

tbsp dark soy sauce

tsp sugar

tsp coarse black pepper

cup low-salt chicken broth
Instructions
1: Pat dry the tofu, cut into cubes, and toss with 2 tbsp cornstarch. 2: Mix stir-fry sauce ingredients in a bowl and set aside. 3: Heat 1/4 cup oil in a pan and fry tofu until golden. Drain on paper towels. 4: In the same pan, sauté shallot, garlic, ginger, scallion whites, and chili peppers until fragrant. 5: Add the sauce and bring to a light simmer. 6: Mix 1 tsp cornstarch with 1 tbsp water, stir into sauce, and simmer until thickened. 7: Add fried tofu and toss to coat evenly in the sauce. 8: Garnish with scallion greens and serve hot with steamed rice.View original recipe
